Student Spouse visa

• My boyfrd studies in Canberra at the moment (PostGraduation). We plan to marry in Dec. Am i eligibal to stay in Australia on his student visa? His visa does not state any dependents yet? Can he change the status of his student visa now to state spouse as well?
  
  How long will this whole process take since we plan to get married in Dec 2006?

  Wanted to ask Ms. rekha elangovan and Mr. Asif who applied for their Spouse Visa in March whether the Visa has been granted.
  
  I applied for Spouse Visa on 30 March and after speaking to the Case Officer have learnt that it will take 3 more weeks from now.
